Dumaguete & Siquijor 3

Today we set out early for Zamboanguita to catch a boat to Apo Island.

This boat was quite a bit smaller than the last one, but the ~25min trip from the coast to the island was smooth thanks to calm waters.

Due to some navigational mishaps we arrived a bit later than expected, so we started out with some lunch at the island resort overlooking the beach. I had a decent pork satay but everyone else had the very delicious tuna. I chose wrong!

After lunch we made our way down to the beach and got prepped for snorkeling.

The water was crystal clear and we had a great time viewing the coral and marine life.

The biggest draw in Apo Island are the sea turtles - we got to swim right alongside them as they aren't bothered by people at all.

People aren't allowed to touch the turtles of course, but you can swim close enough that you could, which makes for an amazing experience.

After a full afternoon of snorkeling, we headed back to Dumaguete and finished off the day with chicken inasal for dinner and halo-halo for dessert.
