Dumaguete & Siquijor 1

#philippines #travel

We're off for a week long trip to visit Dumaguete and Siquijor in the Visayas region of the Philippines.

We got up really early to catch a Grab (a ride hailing app here in SEA) to Manila airport. The flight was about an hour and we landed in Dumaguete around 7:30am. Not only did we avoid the Manila traffic, but we arrived with plenty of day to pack with activities.

Iris' family picked us up from the airport and we headed off to a delicious breakfast buffet at Sans Rival Bistro, along Rizal Boulevard right on the coast.

After taking a few photos of area we set out for a tour of some popular tourist spots in Dumaguete.

Along the way we stopped by the side of the rode to feed bananas to some wild monkeys.

And took some photos of sulfur vents.

We continued into the mountains to Red Rock Hot Springs for a relaxing dip. Despite the name, the pools were nicely warm instead of "hot".

After a good soak, we came back down the mountain and spent the rest of the day at Forest Camp Resort.

We explored the area, swam in the pools, and had dinner in the resort.

After a long day, we returned to Dumaguete City and Hotel Nicanor where we're staying for a few days while we experience the areas in and around Dumaguete. Later in the week we'll be heading to the island of Siquijor.
